Up for auction is a Barnsdale’s Electric Moving Pictures Opera House Movie Poster.
Dated Wed. March, and is from the early 1900’s. This early example of film advertising promotes Walter Barnsdale's traveling film company. Barnsdale is considered a pioneer in the movie industry in that he produced his own films, created his own special projection equipment, and traveled both small towns and big cities exhibiting films for the public's viewing pleasure.
This is one of several posters we found rolled up in a storage locker where they have been for decades.
Poster is in nice vintage shape as shown and will be shipped on cardboard wrapped in saranwrap.
Wave and wrinkle should smooth out when framed and there is one small edge tear which is hard to see.
Poster measures approximately 8” wide by 19.5” long.
Poster will lay flat when framed.
