rare
Television Studio Sign!
Paramount Pictures has the distinction of being the OLDEST motion picture logo still in use today. The famous mountain and star configuration has been around for over 100 years! In this collection, there's a one-sheet movie poster that clearly has the earliest know iteration of the legendary logo. There's also two other fantastic and rare studio signs:

Important piece in this collection is:
A PARAMOUNT PICTURES ONE-SHEET (29.25
by
41.75 inches) c1914!
NOTICE
that this - more than century old - poster has
ONLY 17 STARS
circling the mountain! That's significant, as it's been documented that the stars circling the mountain
supposedly
numbered 24 at the time the logo was initially launched -
to
represent
the
quantity
of movie star contracts held by the studio
at the time
. WRONG! This 17 STAR version offered here in this collection is the earliest known. Originally, back in the early 1910s, Paramount Pictures was not a production company. It was started as a distribution company that released a conglomeration of
other
producer's works. This one-sheet (see photos #1, 2 &3) was likely issued to advertise the company's early business of
just
releasing films. If you're into Hollywood history, or American history for that matter, this poster is a MUST! Talk about a piece of art that's familiar to everyone! This version is as vintage as they come. Check out the very early 19th-century typography. It looks similar to the earliest of the Ford Motor Company and Coca-Cola logos, which were created
around
the same time period.
Also,
NOTICE
the spelling of the word
Theaters
. The spelling the word
theatre
was extremely commonplace over 100 years ago in the USA.
Theat
er
, spelled with the "er" is a late 20th-century preference.
This poster is in nice shape. It was linen-mounted some 25 years ago, shortly before I purchased it at a live auction. Originally, it had some fragmenting at the edges and cross-fold area near the top folds. I've poste

Important piece in this collection is:
A VERY RARE 1930's "PARAMOUNT FILMS" POSTER MADE TO ADVERTISE THE STUDIO AT THEIR SWEDISH DIVISION!
This iteration of the logo has the now familiar 24 stars (see photos #1&4. It also has arguably the most stylized, refined, and, elegant version of the logo that can be found throughout the company's long history. This poster measures 13x13.5 inches. It was printed in in Stockholm back in the 1930's during the Great Depression. The poster was found rolled and has been stored flat by me for decades now. I've not backed the poster yet. It's in the original state it was found in. I'll let the next owner decide on what to do with it. The poster has some minor creases and whatnot from being rolled and unrolled all those years ago. Any of the MINOR defects will disappear with a simple linen-mounting. I've posted a

Important piece in this collection is:
A PARAMOUNT STUDIOS TELEVISION PRODUCTION SIGN.
This is an old production sign for Paramount's TV division. This Paramount studio sign measures 13 and 3 quarters by 3 and 5 8ths inches and is 1/8th of an inch thick It's double-sided and was once found actually hanging at the studio! I was told this sign once hung outside the stage where they once filmed the original production of the Star Trek TV series. It looks like it's made of a hard Bakelite type of material. It might actually be Bakelite. This iteration has only 22 stars, which means it's from the 1970's when they made that change during the Gulf+Western years (see photos #1&6). Paramount was acquired by Gulf+Western Industries on March 24, 1966.

Buying this Paramount collection is ECONOMY PROOF!
Why waste your money in the stock market? It can crash regardless of any decision you make and can even crash regardless of any decision made by the company related to the stock - Leaving you with a near worthless piece of paper that won't inspire anyone! With the purchase of historic documents such as these Paramount treasures, it doesn't matter what happens to the economy, you'll still have the stuff, which can be displayed and enjoyed. The magnificence of art and historic documents have an inherent value that relates to civilization and society. Unless civilization itself crashes then this piece will hold its value, and, if civilization itself crashes - Who'll care about money? This lot is definitely
ECONOMY PROOF!
