  • Condition: This original, restored Window Card, starring Lon Chaney Sr., exhibits excellent detail of the image on a very clean background. Of the few, minor flaws that exist, most occur along the borders. There is some aging along the borders and at the top 1/4 of the Window Card - which is empty and is generally used by Theatres to put the show times of the movie. There is a small (1/4") thin line at the bottom right border under the "P" in "PRINT". There is a tiny (1/16") blackish dot on the bottom left border under the "ON" in "PRODUCTION". There is some discoloration with whitish marks in the lettering of "TOD BROWNING" and the lettering below that. There is a tiny (1/8") rub-off at the top right border in the "N" in "IN". There is a hard-to-see crease on the bottom right under "UR". There are no pin holes, no tears, and no tape or tape residue. There is no soiling. There is no loss of paper or color. The Window Card has a low gloss. Please review the photos carefully.

    This is the Original (1sh) 1926 Window Card
    THE BLACKBIRD
    .  It was used by
    MGM
    to promote this movie when it was released in 1926.  It is not a reprint nor a reproduction.  The movie stars
    Lon Chaney Sr., Owen Moore, Renee Adoree
    , Doris Lloyd, Andy MacLennan, and William Weston.
    It was directed by Tod Browning.
    This restored movie Window Card measures 14" x 22"
    This original movie Window Card is graded C8.5, Very Fine to Near Mint.
    Original movie Lobby Cards are graded as follows from the top down: C10 (Mint), C9 (Near Mint), C8 (Very Fine), C7 (Fine/Very Fine), C6 (Fine or Very Good), C5 (Good to Very Good), C4 (Good), etc.
    Prior to restoration, this Window Card was graded  C7 Fine/Very Fine.  Restoration corrected
    pinholes, and some minor creasing along the bottom.  The borders have been airbrushed and a few surface scuffs were repaired.  Restoration also enhanced the colors of the image.

    now displays beautifully.  The aforementioned post-restoration flaws are unobtrusive to the appearance of this original Window Card.
