The Freshman (Pathé, 1925).
Special Die-Cut Window Card (12" x 22"). Classic Comedy
.
Starring Harold Lloyd, Jobyna Ralston, Brooks Benedict, James Anderson, Hazel Keener and Joseph Harrington.
Directed by Fred C. Newmeyer and Sam Taylor.
The Freshman is widely considered one of Lloyd's most hilarious, well-constructed films and was his most successful silent film of the 1920's. Hugely popular at the time of it's release, it sparked a craze for college films that lasted well beyond the 1920's. It was one of Lloyd's few films to remain widely available after the sound era, and he reissued the film (with cuts) and used extended scenes in compilation films of the 1960's. The football game sequence was reused by Lloyd and director Preston Sturges in Lloyd's last film, The Sin of Harold Diddlebock (1947).
Credited as being the first "sports" movie produced.
The film was selected into the National Film Registry in 1990 for being "culturally, historically or aesthetically significant."
Included among the American Film Institute's 2000 list of the Top 100 Funniest American Movies.

SPECIAL DIE-CUT WINDOW CARD
:
Most of the "football" is die-cut, starting at the top. Half way down the poster, toward the bottom of the "football" there is a very light horizontal "score" on either side, but not across the bottom of the "football," where the top part of the poster can be folded back, letting the poster stand on it's own, leaving the "football" prominently sticking out. The very light "score" is in perfect condition as the poster has never been folded back.

TODD FEIERTAG is a name that is synonymous with Vintage Movie Posters since he's been buying and selling them for 58 years!! On MARCH 1, 1997 he conducted a single owner sale of his own material at Sotheby's(the largest auction house in the World) in New York which was the most successful movie poster auction of all time. Many of the rare posters were the finest examples in existence and/or the only known examples. Included in that auction was an original one sheet for THE MUMMY(1932) which sold for 3,500.00, more than doubling the previous high record for a poster. An astounding amount at that time and an auction record which stood for almost eighteen years.
